The sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Conditiontakes place 10 years later, with the war to gain Thermal Energy, or T-ENG, still raging. There have been some changes over the years: the icy environments are joined by jungles, deserts and cities. Like the original, Lost Planet 2is visually stunning, and retains some of the best bits, such as the Vital Suits and competitive multiplayer option.
The campaign, which is split into six interconnected episodes, is a decent length, although more opportunities to save the game would be welcome. The control system needs some improvement, and the online multiplayer mode, while welcome, feels lacking in some way. In general, it's an enjoyable third-person shooter game. However, the general feeling is that Lost Planet 2could have done a lot more.
