Music element to new PS Vita title

Xseed games, PS Vita **

As the name suggests, there’s a music element to this game. The PS Vita title is ideal for quick games on go, split into levels of short songs. The general idea is that you are the God of Light, controlling a team of warriors split into earth, fire and water elements. Through a series of rhythmic commands that you tap out on the screen. Timing is crucial; the closer you match the beat of the music, the stronger you warrior becomes. Fail to match it and you’ll see their strength ebb away; miss a command and you’ll find your level falling too. You’ll keep fighting the enemy squads – the Dark Tribe – until you reach the big battles, which obviously sees the difficulty ramp up a little. And they type of warrior you have (fire, water or earth) will make a difference to how it eventually plays out. It’s a fun but frustrating game. The visuals can be difficult to get to grips with and if your sense of rhythm isn’t great, you’ll find yourself with underpowered fighters.
