Bank vaults aren't the only things getting raided in first-person shooter
Payday: The Heist, which makes withdrawals from numerous movies. The sinister/goofy masks echo the Joker's crew in
The Dark Knight, while the business suits and propulsive music are straight out of Heat.
Paydaymoves a little too quickly and dizzyingly, but the multiplayer co-op works tremendously, as you and your team have to work together to raid a bank, break into buildings and hijack an armoured truck. One false move could mean dead hostages and then an army of cops. There are always multiple steps to each job. For example, robbing the bank involves nabbing the manager's key, controlling hostages and keeping an eye on the drill at the safe. More low-fi than the high- profile shooters of recent weeks, Payday isn't perfect, but it's got attitude to burn.
