Racket Sports Party is, as you may have guessed, another sports-themed game for the Wii. However, unlike other titles that rely simply on the Wiimote and Motion Plus, this brings in a camera to help register movement. You can choose between the controller or the camera to play one of the six games on offer in various locations around the world.
The gameplay with the Wiimote option is similar to what you’d find in the Wii Sports or Sports Resort games, but the camera option is a little more temperamental. For example, it doesn’t like areas with too much dark, too much light or obstructions lurking in the background.
Getting the hang of the camera movement is tricky. There’s a slight lag, for example, and because the camera requires players to be within a certain silhouette shape to pick up movement, it can be difficult to know where exactly you are in relation to that silhouette, as it’s not represented on screen. However, the game is a fun way to pass a few hours.
