Where there is a kid's movie, there is the inevitable game tie-in. The good news here is that the makers of Rangohaven't taken the lazy option. Instead of simply duplicating the movie's plotline, the game centres on Rango's tall tales that feature in the film. So instead of concentrating on Rango's battle to become sheriff of the pint-sized town
of Dirt, the tales take centre stage. There is some crossover, including several characters you’ll recognise from the film, but not so many that you feel cheated. The graphics, created by Industrial Light & Magic, are impressive – as they should be given that a computer- generated animated film is its source material. The game moves from shoot-outs to chases and general combat, all taking place in a variety of desert environments. A fun, action-packed game.
