This looked like it had potential. It promises "the war of tomorrow", and gives you enough technology to make you believe it. But a vague storyline and the limitations of aerial combat in terms of gameplay make for an awkward experience as you take on the role of an "elite tactical aviator" fighting an enemy across different territories. Air combat missions are always going to be limited in variety, and HAWX 2is no exception. In among the close-range dogfights, you must tackle tasks such as air-to-air refuelling, mid-mission.

Some of the missions may require the use of drones and recon work, tracking down targets and carrying out stealth bombing missions. Where HAWX really shines is the array of technology at your disposal. The graphics, which use GeoEye commercial satellite imagery, are stunning. Fans of the military and all its accoutrements will find much much of interest.
