Commemorative Dublin Lockout coin to go on sale

A coin commemorating the centenary of the 1913 Dublin Lockout is being launched by the Central Bank today.

The silver proof coin stamped "15 euro" has been designed by renowned sculptor Rory Breslin. It costs €44 to buy.

The .925 Sterling Silver coin weighs 28.28g, with a diameter of 38.61m, and is to have a run of just 10,000.

It can be purchased from the bank's Dame Street office from tomorrow, by phone or by downloading an order form.
