It's a regular occurrence – just when the year is coming to an end, an album sneaks out, stalks you and then hits you over the head. FreezerRoom, an Irish collective of musicians and producers mostly from the Republic of Cork, may not be the best at self-promotion (this is not so much a sleeper release as a comatose one) but they certainly know how to present their depth-charged rock/ electronica in the proper fashion. Having made a splash at Irish festivals (notably Body Soul at Electric Picnic, and Hard Working Class Heroes), it's good to know that on record they effortlessly score direct hits, too. Vocalist Elaine Dowling weaves a spell throughout (she features on all tracks but The Doctor Tuneand Lou Larita), as do Diarmuid Galvin (guitar) and Graham White (er, noise). Make way, 2012.
