MOUNT KIMBIE ft. KING KRULE
Blue Train Lines Warp
Archy Marshall (aka King Krule, aka Edgar the Beatmaker, aka Hypnodisc, aka The Return of Pimp Shrimp) may have more alter-egos than your average confidence trickster. But when he builds up a head of a steam, as he does here on this fantastic collaboration with London duo Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, there's no mistaking the 22-year-old Brit School graduate's guttural drawl. Mount Kimbie's third studio album, Love What Survives, is due out September 8th.

VERA BLUE
Lady Powers Universal
Speaking of alter-egos, flame-haired pop diva Vera Blue came to public prominence Down Under as Celia Pavey, when she placed third on season 2 of The Voice Australia. Relaunching as Vera Blue, the 23-year-old has just released a new album titled Perennial, which was recorded between Sydney and Australia and is arranged into three distinct chapters to showcase her journey as a songwriter.

DIDDY ft. NOTORIOUS B.I.G. & RICK ROSS
Watcha Gon' Do Bad Boy
According to Forbes, Sean "Diddy" Combs has recently overtaken Taylor Swift as the world's highest paid celebrity. But most of his earnings come from vodka and clothing lines these days. If he feels a need to prove he remains a player in the rap game, "collaborating" for the umpteenth time with a man who died in 1997 may not be the smartest way to go about it.

JYELLOWL
Cold in the Summer
"Cold in the winter, cold in the summer too..." JyellowL's infectious hook here could easily do a job as Discover Ireland's back-up 2018 tourism slogan. But alas on this new track the 19-year-old UCD Politics student, of Nigerian and Jamaican descent, is talking racism. The video, shot in Temple Bar, was directed by Hermilio Opel of Dream Resolution Films. JyellowL plays the Sound House on Eden Quay next Thursday, August 3rd, and the Trenchtown Stage at Electric Picnic in September.
