Genre: R&B / Soul
Label: Sony Legacy

Although this Belfast band soldiered on until the early 70s, Them’s best years were 1964-1966.

During this brief period, the band – fronted by the wiry Van Morrison – made its mark on the UK and the US with hit singles such as Baby Please Don't Go, Here Comes the Night, Mystic Eyes and the garage band staple, Gloria. For a band with such a short lifespan,

Them’s influence was important; there was a proto-punk truculence on display that set them apart from other British invasion acts such as Herman’s Hermits, The Dave Clarke Five and The Kinks.

This three-CD set gathers the band's first two albums (1965's The Angry Young Them and 1966's Them Again), along with rarities and outtakes, and if you're looking for short, sharp bursts of taut, angst-ridden R&B, then it's all here.
