Get knitted out for Christmas at Lainey Keogh’s sale

Next weekend there’s an opportunity to buy Lainey Keogh’s luxury cashmere knits at a special Christmas sale she has organised in the RHA Gallery in Ely Place. Items from womenswear collections will be on sale – along with menswear – including cardigans, sweaters, coats, tops, hats, mittens, scarves and stoles. Prices start at €50 for a scarf and go up to €3,500 for a unique piece: a one-of-a-kind embroidered coat that might appeal to collectors. The three-day sale takes place on Thursday December 7th December from 2-6pm, Friday December 8th from 10am-6pm, and on Saturday December 9th from 10am-3pm at the gallery. A bigger and brighter boutique for Dettling  

Fans of Debbie Dettling’s fashion boutique in Ranelagh will be pleased to discover (if they don’t already know) that she has relocated to a bigger and brighter premises in Stillorgan, on the Old Dublin Road. The shop – the interior of which she designed herself “with the help of two carpenters” – is warm and welcoming with a mix of well-chosen quality Italian and French brands, styles selected to appeal to both mothers and daughters. The emphasis is mostly on daywear, with some great sportswear from US brand Monrow, soft cashmere and cotton leisurewear from another US brand called Majestic Filatures, and some fine Ethiopian leathers from Yirga Hellen. A busy mother with years of experience in retail, Dettling knows her market and steers away from too-scary prices. Other distractions in the shop include all sorts of accessories, luxury candles from the new Irish brand Purcell & Woodcock, jewellery by Panache from Korea and some funky greeting cards.
