Fashion: feminine sensibility to masculine tailoring in a collection full of attitude


Arnotts staged a glamorous breakfast showing of their autumn winter collections in the middle of their 9,000 square ft Shoe Garden now relocated beside womenswear on the first floor. Fashion director Valerie O Neill brought a feminine sensibility to the masculine tailoring and casual sporty looks with an emphasis “on style not being about age but about attitude and lifestyle”, using models from 20-50 on the catwalk. Here are seven picks from the line up styled by Jan Brierton.

1.Banana and mustard, new autumn colours, spiced up the collection. This banana silk blouse by Luisa Cerano 310 is teamed with navy and yellow go faster striped trousers by Millie Mackintosh 100 (a new label) with orange crossbody bag by Michael Kors 175 and shoes by Vince Camoto.

2. Deep green velvet jacket and trousers €550 and €330 by Luisa Cerano with a mustard silk top by Caractere €169 and shoes by Buffalo.

3. Rust suede jacket by Selected Femme (who do cool leather jackets) €199.99 worn with a black floral print dress by Millie Mackintosh €145 and boots by Janak.
