Survey: Do you listen to RTÉ’s longwave service?

Who listens in Britain, and do they have alternative access to Radio 1 online or on digital?

Do you listen to RTÉ’s longwave service, or believe it is important to the Irish community living in the UK?

Last year, RTÉ announced it was shutting down its Longwave 252 service, leaving Radio 1 available only on FM and digital platforms. Following objections and petitions from the Irish community however, RTÉ agreed to continue the service until May 2017, with reduced hours in 2016.

Irish in Britain, which represents organisations working with the Irish community, is conducting a survey to find out about who listens to Longwave 252, where they live, and how they feel about it the service ceasing. The research also aims to establish whether these listeners are aware of alternative ways to access Radio 1, online or on digital radio.

You can fill out the survey online at http://bit.ly/LWsurvey or call Irish in Britain on 0208 411 5142 to request a copy of the survey to be sent to you by post, or a call-back to complete the survey over the phone. The final date for receiving online, phone or posted surveys is November 6th.
