Competition: Ireland and Me

Write about Ireland for Generation Emigration, and you could win a big parcel of Irishness

What makes you wish you were at home? What makes you glad you live overseas? Tell us about it to be in with a chance to win a hamper of Irish goodies.
What makes you wish you were at home? What makes you glad you live overseas? Tell us about it to be in with a chance to win a hamper of Irish goodies.

If you occasionally hanker for all those other little bits of Ireland that are generally absent from foreign climes, here’s a chance to get a selection of Irish produce sent to the front door of your home abroad.

Generation Emigration invites Irish people abroad to put finger to keyboard, and tell us about your current relationship with the old country. What makes you wish you were at home? What makes you glad you live overseas? Do you plan to come back? Do you fear doing so? Or do you just wish your friends or family would visit you occasionally in your new home?

If you can tell us all that inside 500 words, email it to emigration@irishtimes.com before 5pm Irish time on Friday December 5th with the subject line “IRELAND AND ME” and a photograph of yourself, and you could win that big parcel of Irishness.

There’ll be just one winner, but a selection of the best contributions may be published on the Generation Emigration site.
