The best sayings about the weather tend to rhyme. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight. If the sun in red should set, the next day surely will be wet. Clear moon, frost soon.
Unfortunately, there isn’t yet a popular rhyming couplet about Irish spring weather, but we would like to propose this: if you seek all seasons in a day, come to Ireland at the end of May. Then again, no one here will be leaving their day job for a more lucrative one in the couplet coining industry any day soon.
It’s not quite summer, but it might not be spring either. A typical trip outdoors usually requires a waterproof coat, SPF, an umbrella and a pair of sunglasses. Grin and bear it: sunglasses and parkas have an oh-so-retro but oh-so-now Britpop vibe. Go for broke with a Burberry Brit parka and Acne shades, or prudently invest your money at Topshop.
