WATERFORD-born artist Peter Curling has managed to successfully combine his twin passions of horses and painting. He runs a stud farm in Tipperary and his pictures have a devoted following.

Two of his oils will go under the hammer in Christie's Sporting and Wildlife Artauction in London on Monday, June 27th. Into The Turnis estimated at £30,000-£50,000 while Around The Turnis £20,000-£30,000. Other highlights include works by English artist Arthur Wardle (1860-1949) who was famous for his paintings of dogs, especially terriers. A typical example is his late Victorian image Rabbiting, estimated at £7,000-£10,000.

A more affordable image of dogs is available from Co Wexford-based artist Mark O'Neill, who's selling the small number remaining of signed copies of a limited edition of 100 prints of his painting Mill House Brothers. (€250), Tomorrow he's holding the latest opening of his Mill House Gallery at Kilcarry Bridge, Clonegal – near Bunclody on the Wexford/ Carlow border - from 11am-6pm. He's also launching his latest print, called Au Coeur Du Village(€250).
