A strong price of £495,000 (628,520) has been put on 86 Lower Churchtown Road in Dublin 14 by Sherry FitzGerald, a four-bedroom family home which it is selling by private treaty.

It is an executor's sale and new owners will have to do some work to the house particularly in the kitchen, which is basic by modern standards. The bathroom is similarly dated.

The same agent is selling a similar house for sale for £10,000 (12,700) less than number 86, but the price difference between the two comes from their size and positioning on the road. Number 86 is a corner house that not only has a long garden, but it was used as a dentist's surgery and so has a single storey annex to the side with three rooms and its own gated entrance on Woodlawn Park. This could be used as a surgery or as a granny flat.

These redbrick houses were built in the 1950s overlooking Milltown Golf Club. They have the feeling of comfortable family homes with their good-sized bedrooms, child-friendly gardens and integrated garages.

Upstairs there are three double bedrooms and one single. One of the doubles to the front of the house has an en suite. The bathroom and toilet are separate. Downstairs there are two reception rooms. The back room opens via glazed patio doors to the garden. The proportions in these houses are good with higher than average ceilings and a feeling of spaciousness.
