We all know the next best thing to painting a masterpiece, cooking a gourmet dish or writing a classic is buying a book that tells you how, and promptly not reading it.

Well don't miss out on the perfect opportunity to add "home stylist" to your repertoire of near talents, when architect Declan O'Donnell of RTÉ's recent Home of the Year series hosts a signing of his new book Rooms at the Roche Bobois showroom in Sandyford's Beacon South Quarter this Saturday between 2pm and 4pm.

Rooms offers practical advice on everything from open-plan living (which is borderline compulsory nowadays) to cleverly designed kitchens, extensions, attic conversions and useful storage ideas. It will look at common household problems and the fundamental decisions required for any project, big or small.

On Saturday Declan will be available to chat to attendees, though you must register first at dublin@rochebobois.ie or at 01-6531650. The first 20 attendees will get a free signed copy of the book.
