Apartments in the crescent-shaped Herbert Park Lane apartments seldom come up for sale. The trio of six-storey sandstone-coloured buildings overlook the river Dodder on one side and Herbert Park on the other and were built by Sheelin McSharry on the five-acre former Johnston Mooney and O’Brien site to a design by O’Mahony Pike Architects. When the development was first launched, one-bedroom apartments sold for about IR£50,000, about €63,486. The scheme was completed in 1998.

Last August, five apartments at the Pines sold for a collective €2.35million.
