Ronan Keating sells £1m home

It would take a teenybopper about a half second to figure out what the initials in RYK Lodge stand for - especially if you gave them Boyzone as a hint.

"R" is for Ronan, "Y" for his wife Yvonne and "K" is for Keating - and the Lodge is their large dormer bungalow in Stacumney, Celbridge, which will be auctioned on June 14th with a guide of £1 million (#1.27m). HOK Residential and Coonans Auctioneers are the joint selling agents. The couple and their two children are said to be moving to a house located in the K Club.

The couple bought the modern Celbridge house just over two years ago for £740,000, and have clearly spent money decorating every room, putting in a new antique pine kitchen and installing a bar.

Apart from the bar, which is in a large room with two grand pianos, and a swimming-pool which was in the house when the couple bought it, there is nothing remotely "pop-star flashy" about the Kildare bungalow.

The front of the U-shaped house, which is behind electric gates, is fairly unprepossessing - the viewer sees a white-painted double fronted modern bungalow with dormer windows upstairs.

Formal living and diningrooms at the front are made up of three interconnecting rooms. At the back there are two wings - one with the swimming-pool, the other housing the kitchen and conservatory. There is an informal livingroom which has a double-height ceiling and is overlooked by a minstrels' gallery. This is accessed via a spiral staircase and has been turned into a home office.

There are seven bedrooms spread over both levels of the house, four of which have en suites. Two of the smaller rooms in the spacious dormer area upstairs have been decorated as children's rooms.

The main bedroom, upstairs, consists of a suite of rooms including a large dressingroom with wall-to-wall fitted wardrobes and a wood-panelled bathroom with Jacuzzi. This has access via a spiral staircase to the swimming-pool area which includes a 10-metre heated pool and a sauna and opens to the garden and into the bar area.

The house is on six acres, divided into paddocks, formal gardens, a raised sun deck and a driveway in front of the house which has parking for several cars. There is a garage with electric doors.

The house has been very stylishly decorated in soft, bright colours on walls and floors and, as the owners have only lived there a very short time, everything is in superb condition. New owners will most likely change very little - except perhaps the name.
