Rena Maycock and Feargal Harrington (above) met in a bar when Rena went for a pint with an old friend home from the US: Feargal was his cheeky younger brother. They’ve been together since and now live happily in Malahide with two Golden Labs. That was August 2010. Just over a year later, they started Intro Matchmaking. “Romance exists,” says Maycock, “but sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands.”
Intro is an old-fashioned matchmaking service: after an initial phone call, they'll interview a client, and check driver's licences and passports. They don't give people each other's photographs, surnames or phone numbers and will only take on people interested in long-term relationships. Some clients have been given membership of Intro as a present – they get calls from people saying "will you sort out my sister". Now that's true love. See
