Wildflower walksNext Saturday (April 16th), Wicklow Mountains National Park is offering people the opportunity to get acquainted with wildflowers. Participants will learn to identify some April wildflowers and learn about their ecology and folklore. The walks will take place at 11am and 2.30pm. Starting out from the information office by the

Mountain crossingPeaks Mountaineering Club is inviting walkers to participate in the Knockmealdown Crossing next Saturday (April 16th). There will be three walks, two of them guided (13km and 17km) and one self-navigating (29.5km). All participants must be over 18 years of age, have a good level of fitness and come properly equipped. Entry fee of €20 includes a two-course meal in the Glenview Lounge, Goatenbridge, Clonmel, at the end of the walk. Paddle powerCanoeing Ireland will begin an evening introductory kayaking course on April 19th at its training centre in the Strawberry Beds, Chapelizod, Dublin. The course operates under the guidance of qualified instructors. There are a limited number of places available per course. The fee is €175 and all technical equipment is supplied.
