Wee Binnian WalkersThe invitation is out for three days of walking and craic at this year's Wee Binnian Walkers festival, from next Friday until tomorrow week.

Big-house cycleCyclists can bike along the "other" River Blackwater, in Co Tyrone, tomorrow week. This 100km event takes in three counties and four big-house estates, including Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan. Bike the Blackwater 2009 starts from Blessingbourne Estate, in Fivemiletown, near the river's source. Registration is €15-€20. See biketheblackwater. org.

Charity walksThe annual Mid Tipperary Hillwalkers Autumn Charity Challenge, in aid of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland, starts in Kenmare, on October 9th. You can climb Hungry Hill, walk 16km along the Kerry Way or enjoy easier wood and waterside rambles. The €199 fee includes two nights' BB and one dinner, plus €50 for the NCBI.
