FREE DERRY CORNER

Free Derry Corner is a historical landmark in the Bogside neighbourhood of Derry. A gable wall commemorates Free Derry, a self-declared autonomous nationalist area of Derry that existed between 1969 and 1972. On the corner is a memorial to the 1981 hunger strikers and several murals.

ST COLUMB'S CATHEDRAL

Dedicated to Saint Columba, the Irish monk who established a Christian settlement in the area before being exiled from Ireland and introducing Christianity to Scotland and northern England.

THE RIVER FOYLE
Flowing through the city and dividing the Bogside and Waterside
A majestic expanse of water which flows through the city. The river is lined by lovely walks and crossed by a number of bridges including the Foyle Bridge and the recently opened Peace Bridge.
