Travel Bag: From Vegas to Kilkenny, the top travel news

The Las Vegas two

The “Strip” in Las Vegas is set to see the arrival of a new hospitality experience this autumn with the opening of the Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas – two distinct hotel experiences under one roof. A whopping $550 million transformation of the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino will now consist of a new 2,700-room luxury resort, Park MGM, and a Las Vegas version of the NoMad Hotel. The collaboration means residents can enjoy the diverse offerings in each hotel all under one roof. See parkmgm.com.

Dylan dreaming

The Dylan hotel in Dublin heralds in the summer season with a new epicurean offering. The five star’s Midsummer Dreams Menu is a curation of honeysuckle, elderflower and hibiscus-infused cocktails paired with a canapé menu of garden pea, lobster and lavender. See reservations@dylan.ie.

Raising the bar

Rural retreat Ballilogue, Co Kilkenny, adds another string to its bow this month with the addition of a cocktail bar. The new Shed Bar opens on to the courtyard, linking the converted dairy dining room and pre-Famine farmers' cottages, a perfect destination for a secluded staycation. See ballilogue.com.
