A new case for reading glasses, the spray top water bottle and mainstream smart luggage.

THINOPTICS GLASSES and PHONE CASE Remembering one's reading glasses is almost as big a pain as needing the blooming things in the first place. ThinOPTICS new super-slim, pince-nez- style specs offer the possibility that if you have your phone, you'll likely have your glasses too, as they're actually thin enough to fit in a slot at the back of a smartphone case. Light and flexible, there's an array of colours in the glasses, though the case is only available for Samsung's Galaxy and iPhones at the moment. $40 (€35) from thinoptics.com.

AQUABOT WATER BOTTLE A crowd-funded product that's actually made it beyond a slick video and prototype, Aquabot's spray-top water bottle is the sort of simple idea to make you wonder why it hasn't caught on before. The technology is straightforward. The cap screws onto any standard wide neck plastic bottle like a Nalgene and you pump it up with the built-in handle. It can then spray a mist, jet or shower for cooling down or rehydration, with a control for the pressure. $30 (€27) from lunatecgear.com

SAMSONITE GEOTRAKR LUGGAGE So-called smart luggage is starting to appear in the mainstream thanks to Delsey and now Samsonite. Samsonite GeoTrakR uses integrated LugLoc cellphone technology that tracks your luggage, updating its location through an app on your smartphone. The LugLoc unit shuts off when it's in-flight and the cost of each suitcase covers 30 free traces for 12 months. If you lose more than 30 pieces, maybe start wearing everything you want to bring you. Carry-on and full-size versions available, from $280 (€250) to $400 (€350) – see samsonite.com for details.
