A 35-year-old South Armagh man was remanded in custody today charged with 61 offences relating to the Omagh bombing in August 1998, including 29 murders.

Sean Gerard Hoey appeared at Craigavon Magistrates' Court, also charged with 23 explosives offences, membership of the 'Real IRA' and conspiracy to murder members of the security forces.

Mr Hoey, an electrician from Molly Road, Jonesborough, was remanded in custody to Maghaberry Prison to appear before Belfast magistrates on May 31st.

He did not enter a plea at the hearing.
