Gardaí in Cork are searching for a lone raider who held up staff at a city centre bank this afternoon and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash.

The man dressed in black produced what appeared to be a firearm when he burst into AIB Bank on North Main Street sometime before 3.30pm and held up staff.

It's understood that the man made off with an undisclosed sum of cash before fleeing on foot and it's not believed that anyone was injured in the raid
