Black Tie case struck out

An application to wind up the men’s formal and wedding wear retailer, Black Tie, was struck out at the High Court today.

An application to wind up the men’s formal and wedding wear retailer, Black Tie, was struck out at the High Court today.

The application against Black Tie Ltd, Terenure PLace, Terenure, Dublin, was brought last week by UEDA property holdings, Arkle Road, Sandyford, Dublin which claimed it was owed €36,483 in unpaid rent arising from a lease for a unit at the Square Shopping Centre, in Tallaght, Dublin.

UEDA claimed the debt had not been paid and as a result brought a petition before the High Court to have the firm wound up.

The court heard last week there was no dispute as to the debt but the winding up petition had not been advertised. The matter was adjourned until yesterday to allow it to be advertised.

Mr Justice Roderick Murphy was told the winding up had been advertised, there had been no notice from any other party in relation to it and the matter could be struck out.
