A Dublin Bus vehicle caught fire on the Harold’s Cross Road in Dublin this afternoon. The bus, which was out of service, caught fire around 1pm on its way to the Ringsend bus depot.

The incident occurred at the junction where Kimmage Road Lower meets the Harold’s Cross Road. The bus was travelling towards the Grand Canal in the direction of the city centre.

The driver, who was uninjured, alerted the fire services and the road remained closed until the bus was removed at 2pm. A spokeswoman for Dublin Bus has confirmed there were no passengers on board the vehicle.
