Revenue officials discover bags containing 17kg of drug in a lorry at Rosslare Europort

Revenue officials in Co Wexford have seized 17kg of cocaine, estimated to be worth €1.2 million, from a lorry.

The discovery was made when the vehicle was scanned and searched by Revenue officers and a sniffer dog after it disembarked from a ferry at Rosslare Europort on Monday.

A number of bags containing cocaine were found concealed in a side panel of the truck.

The driver - an Irish male in his 50s - was arrested and brought to Wexford Garda station.
