Killarney baby Karol Rozycki to be buried in Poland

The 11-month-old was found dead in an apartment in Co Kerry on Sunday

Baby Karol Rozycki will be buried on Saturday after 2.30pm Mass of the Angels at the Church of St Martin in Ochaby in the Krakow region of Poland.

Ochaby lies about 20km northwest of Bielsko-Biala.

The 11-month-old was found dead in an apartment in Killarney town centre in Co Kerry on Sunday.

On Friday, Karol's mother Anna Rozycka thanked Aer Lingus and the Killarney undertaker O'Sheas who have met the expenses of the repatriation.

A postmortem was carried out on Friday on the body of Ms Rozycka’s partner (32), who was found severely injured in the bedroom of the apartment on Sunday.

The man, Andrzez Piolunowicz, had been taken to Kerry University Hospital in Tralee .

However, his condition deteriorated and he was transferred to Cork University Hospital, where he died on Thursday night.

Garda investigation

Supt Flor Murphy said while gardaí were not seeking anyone else in connection with the deaths, they are being investigated.

The results of the postmortem on the baby have not been released, but it is understood the infant was smothered.
