Man due in court over Rialto assault

A man is due in court tomorrow over a serious assault on another man near the Rialto Luas stop in Dublin.

The incident took place at 5.40pm yesterday at St James’s Walk and the injured man, who is in his twenties, was taken to St James’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Kilmainham Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. He is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning.
