Man for court over attacks on Cork flat

Shot was fired and petrol bomb was thrown at property in the Blarney area

A man is due to appear in court in Cork this morning in connection with a shot being fired and two petrol bombs being thrown at a flat in Co Cork earlier this week.

Gardaí arrested the man, who is in his 30s and has an address in the Blarney area, yesterday morning as part of their investigation into the attack on a flat in the Station Road area of the village on Monday.

Gardaí were alerted when a shot was fired through the window of the flat at around 3am on Monday. Nobody in the flat was injured, but it’s understood that the occupants were badly shaken.

The scene was preserved and garda technical experts carried out a forensic examination of the scene on Monday morning a bid to try and identify the weapon used in the shooting.
