Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to two separate hit-and-run incidents in Galway and Dublin.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital after a car struck him near Furbo church at about 8.30pm on Sunday. The driver of the car fled the scene.

The man was taken to NUIG Hospital Galway to be treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including “any road users who may have camera footage [including dash-cam] and were travelling on the R336 between Furbo and Spiddal Sunday night, between 8pm and 9pm”.

In Dublin, a woman in her 20s suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run incident involving a motorbike on Sunday night.

The woman was walking on Priorswood Road in Dublin 17 at 11.15pm when she was struck by the bike. The motorcycle rider fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital where she was receiving treatment for serious injuries, gardaí said.

Gardaí appealed for witnesss to come forward, including “any road users who may have camera footage [including dash-cam] and were travelling near the Priorswood Road on Sunday night between 11pm and 11.20pm”.
