Postmortem to be held to establish exact cause of death

A postmortem is to be held on Monday to establish how a man who was found by a roadside in Co Antrim died.

The discovery was made on the Dunluce Road area of Portrush at about 9am on Sunday.

Police said a member of the public found the body and raised the alarm.

Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “At this time the cause of death is unclear and as such the Dunluce Road will remain closed until after the post mortem tomorrow morning.”

The man has not been formally identified, police said.

The area between between Skerries caravan park and Ballybogey Road on the Dunluce Road was closed following the discovery.
