Injured man and woman, believed to be in their 20s, taken to Tallaght Hospital

A man and a women were injured in a shooting incident in West Dublin on Thursday night.

The woman - believed to be pregnant - suffered an arm injury while the man was shot in the stomach.

Gardaí were dispatched to Grange View Lawns, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, at 9.26pm after reports of the shooting incident. It is understood they were shot by a lone gunmen at the front door of the house.

The pair, believed to be in their 20s were taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital.

The man was shot in the stomach, while the woman suffered injuries to her arm. It is understood her gunshot wound was “more of a graze” and she was not seriously injured.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in a stable condition in Tallaght Hospital.

A fire engine from Tallaght, an ambulance from St Vincents’ Hospital, and an air ambulance from Dolphin’s Barn all attended the scene.

A Garda investigation into the shooting is currently ongoing.
