Two men arrested earlier this week in connection with a fatal incident in Clondalkin in Dublin last month have been released.
The men, both aged in their 20s, were released on Thursday night after being detained on Wednesday in relation to the incident on the evening of Sunday, January 23rd, in which Ian McDonnell, who was in his 50s, suffered catastrophic injuries after intervening to attempt to stop the theft of his car.
The incident took place near the car dealership Mr McDonnell managed in Clondalkin.
Mr McDonnell was found seriously injured on the Robinhood Road at about 6.15pm on January 23rd.

Gardaí said he had intervened to prevent the theft of his car, and was carried some distance on its bonnet to the place where he was found.
The father of three died at Tallaght University Hospital five days later.
Mr McDonnell lived in Lucan in Co Dublin but his funeral took place in his native Elphin in Co Roscommon on February 8th.
In a statement on Friday, An Garda Síochána confirmed both of the men arrested on Wednesday had been released late on Thursday and that a file would be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The statement added that investigations were ongoing.
