Young man dies after being hit by a truck in Limerick city

A young male pedestrian has been killed after he was struck and killed by a truck on the Limerick to Ennis road this morning.

The collision happened at around 6.45am between the Radisson hotel and the Coonagh roundabout in Limerick.

The deceased (27) was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was uninjured.

A section of the road has been closed for a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardai at Mayorstone in Limerick are investigating.
