A series of international experts on cancer will be available to meet the general public to deal with any questions that they may have about particular forms of the disease at a conference at University College Cork this weekend.

This year’s conference organised by the Cork Cancer Research Centre will look at secondaries to the liver from colorectal cancer and will take place at Devere Hall at UCC tomorrow between 6pm and 7pm.

According to Mercy University Hospital consultant surgeon Criostóir O’Súilleabháin, the international panel will be made up of surgeons, radiologists and oncologists, and will speak on the multimodal management of colorectal cancer secondary liver disease.

Mr O’Súilleabháin said the public forum was being held as part of the Southern Symposium on Foregut Cancer and the All Ireland Colorectal Conference.
