Gardai were continuing their investigations yesterday into the murder of Mr Felix McCann (48), whose badly beaten body was found in a disused shed at Kilgobbin Road, Sandyford, Co Dublin, on Friday. He had been dead for several hours. The shed is sometimes used as a shelter by homeless men.
Mr McCann and another man were picked up by taxi in Sallynoggin village at around 11 p.m. on Thursday. The other man got out at George's Street, Dun Laoghaire, but Mr McCann travelled on towards Sandyford.
It is understood that he was last seen at 1.34 a.m. with another man at the junction of Sandyford and Leopardstown roads. The second man was described as 5ft 8ins with collarlength, untidy hair and wearing a black anorak which appeared too large for him.
It is believed Mr McCann was killed at 2.15 a.m. on Friday.
Gardai are appealing for a woman who got out of a taxi at the same junction at about 1.35 a.m. to contact them. She spoke with a German or Dutch accent and had been picked up with another woman at Break for the Border in Chatham Street, Dublin.
