Four teens in hospital after aerosol explosion in Drogheda

Structural damage also caused to house in Marian Park area this afternoon

Four teenagers were brought to hospital this afternoon after at least one aerosol exploded in a house in Drogheda, gardaí have confirmed.

The four, aged between 12 and 14, were in an upstairs bedroom of a house in the Marian Park area when the explosion occurred.

A Garda spokesman said some structural damage was also caused to the house.

The incident happened at 4.20pm and the ambulance service and the fire service attended.

All the injured have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and two may be transferred to Dublin for specialist treatment for burns.
