Man (51) dies after shooting in east Limerick

A 51-year-old man has died following a shooting in Murroe, Co Limerick on Saturday evening.

It is understood the man was shot at a motorcycle club near Mountfune.

Gardaí and emergency services were called the scene at 3.10pm.

The man was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital Limerick.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly before 5pm.

The scene is being preserved for the gardaí technical investigation team and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
