Gardaí in Cork are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in a city centre shop this morning but they don’t believe there is anything suspicious about the death.
The body of the woman in her 60s from the Blackrock area of the citywas found by cleaning staff when they went to clean toilets at Dunnes Stores in Patrick Street just before 8am .
According to gardaí, it appears the woman had gone to the toilet before the store closed yesterday evening and collapsed and died sometime afterwards. Her body remained there overnight.
Gardaí are awaiting the results of a postmortem later today.
