Meath and Offaly ran out winners from their respective O’Byrne Cup semi-final enounters at Parnell Park and Portlaoise today.

Eamonn Barry’s Meath outfit seized the early initiative at the Dublin venue and held a narrow 0-08 to 0-06 lead at the break. Dublin muscled their way back in the second half when Thomas Quinn converted a penalty but came up just short against Meath’s 16 point tally - half of which came from Peter Curran. In the end Meath ran out 0-16 to 1-11 winners.

Offaly has an easier passage to the final as they ran out 0-10 to 0-15 winners after the sides had been level with eights point each at half-time.
