The parents of quadruplets born at Erinville Maternity Hospital in Cork on Tuesday paid tribute to hospital staff for the professional manner in which the four babies were delivered.

Ronan and Maeve Murray and their daughter, Ciara - who are from Cork city but live in Dubai - yesterday announced that the two boys are to be called Daniel and Aaron and the girls Abbie and Raicheal.

"Maeve and myself are delighted that everything has gone so well. We would like to thank the staff on floor two in the hospital who have looked after Maeve since she was admitted, along with all the staff involved in the delivery yesterday," said Ronan.

"We appreciate that there was such a huge team effort to ensure everything was in place and we are grateful for that. The babies are doing well and their big sister Ciara is very excited about her new brothers and sisters," he added.
