Solicitors involved in free legal aid schemes are paid a fee of £73.71 per consultation for essential visits to prisons and other custodial centres, according to the Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue. The fee for a solicitor visiting a free legal aid recipient in a Garda station is £73.71 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday, the Minister said in a written reply to Mr Bernard Allen (FG, Cork North-Central).
