Sir, – Cometh the hour, cometh the woman.
We have a woman in Berlin, a woman in Westminster and soon we could have a woman in the White House.
This may well be a natural progression.
Women have always been great at cleaning up the messes made by men. This time, the challenges are huge. Salvage the environment. End destructive wars and make peace with the neighbours. Bind up society’s wounds. Balance the housekeeping budget. Support the efforts of those in their care to achieve their potential. All of the functions women have traditionally undertaken and achieved mostly without fuss, self-aggrandisement or even just reward.
Call it multitasking and leave it to those who have millennia of experience and are better equipped to carry it off.
