Sir, – It is extraordinary how many times people have to be Garda vetted when working or volunteering for various organisations and workplaces. I totally agree with Noel Casey on the matter (April 13th).
As all of us have a PPS number, surely it should be sufficient to submit this number, with a valid ID, to the vetting office, and that when clearance is issued, that this can be used for all organisations one needs it for?
This could then maybe reissued every two years if required.
It seems a huge amount of administrative work to have to keep applying for clearance every time one volunteers for something or changes jobs. – Yours, etc,
