Life in town and country

Sir, – Anthony O'Leary (Letters, November 8th) complains about the "Taj Mahals that blight the landscape all over the country".

I’m not sure if he is referring to farm dwellings, farmyards or maybe windmills. He should know, however, that those of us who live here provide the food that he consumes every day.

Would he have us live in “semi-detached houses” in estates and commute to the fields each day? – Yours, etc,
